WOOHOO!

Record breaking savings at Randall's this week. $152.41! I used as many coupons as I could for products that were on sale. I used the buy one get one free coupon for the Glade candle and got a few extra dollars to go against my purchases. Progresso soup was on sale and I had tons of coupons for them because they are promoting their product all over the place. The Quaker Life cereal was on sale for $1.88 and I had a $1 coupon which made the box of cereal .88 cents! I also had coupons for fruit snacks and they had a special where you buy 5 and get $5 off your purchase. My son loves fruit snacks but I only buy them when I can get them for almost free! Plus, I have 30 cents taken off per gallon when I fill up which would make gas $2 per gallon! WOW! Here are some good links for coupons for you...

I have not added up my saving for September yet. October is looking a little scarce for savings so far. Wallgreens seems to have better deals than CVS at the moment.

I have been getting a few freebies in the mail daily. I got my free geek nation black T-shirt. Free clothes in the mail... WOW! Here are some freebies and coupons that I have found lately:

FREEBIES!

I got a lot of free stuff in the mail within the last few days. I especially like it when the samples come with coupons. I don't have a dishwasher so I am going to give away the Cascade to a friend of mine. The Chick-fil-a in Cedar Park is giving away free breakfast sandwhiches all this week. Smoothing King is giving away smoothies on Thursday and Cold Stone is giving away free icecream on Thursday of next week from 4-7pm. Yummy!

This week at Randalls I saved $78 with coupons and sales items and then I earned .20 cents on my gas fill up. I took my kids with me shopping. They were being good but I worry about them in the store so it is not as easy to think about what I could be saving. When I got home, I realized about $5 in coupons that I should have used. Lesson learned. Try not to take the kids grocery shopping every time. :) Randalls is doing another deal when you buy 5 items you get $5 off your grocery bill. The items are TP and cleaning products. I will let you know how that goes.

Here is some stuff for you:

$1 off any windex product (could be used towards a sample)

RANDALLS ROCKS!!!

I went to Randalls and they had some great deals. One of the best deals was to buy 5 Quaker products and get $5 off your grocery bill instantly. The Quaker products were also on sale and I had coupons from the paper for them and a few off the internet so they were 50 cents a box. When everything was said and done, I saved $102!!! This was a combination of their sales and my coupons. (I had $52 in coupons) This is my goal now to save at least 50% on my grocery bill! So I decided to fill up my gas tank afterwards and my Randalls card took of 60 cents per gallon on my gas fill up. I think the last time I paid 2.98 per gallon was 2 years ago. I was thanking God all the way home.
In the Mail:
Free always tampons plus coupons for more, free sample of seasoning for steak, free coupons for laundry detergent, free coupons for Blistex, free roll of Scott toilet paper!
Some great stuff for you:
Free sample Gain with Baking Soda detergent:

I got lots of freebies in the mail this last week and it includes my full pack of Strydex cinnamon gum. I got my rebates checks from Rice Krispies...FINALLY!Kelloggs sent me a $5 coupon because I emailed them when one of my poptarts packages lacked a poptart. I also got a $3.50 Glade coupon for one of their scented candles because I wrote to them and told them how much I liked their candles. Sometimes emailing companies once in a while about products you like or don't like is good! I am still working on getting meatless recepies to use a couple of times a week because meat is expensive!
Here's some stuff for you:

What can you get for $20?

What a wonderful day! We were on a mission to get my daughter a new book bag. The ones in stores ranged from $20-$30. We went to all three Goodwills and at the last Goodwill we found it! It was the colors she wanted and it was a stylish book bag (not a backpack!) and the best part it was only $5! I found a Garth Brooks CD for my husband for $2 and some cool Hulk pencils and pencil tin holder both for $1. When I was in the store, it was so HOT. I thought I was having a hot flash...menopause already? The cashier told me that the air conditioning was broken (thank goodness) and they were fixing it. She told me I got a complimentary Goodwill cloth bag. ($1 value) What is funny is that I was looking a bags to put all my coupon stuff in and decided not to spend the money and God gave me this gift! My coupon binder fits perfectly in it!!

Then I went to Wallgreens because they have a coupon on their website for 5$ off any $20 purchase. I only had $10 left. I used coupons for the Sprite and Glade plugins and Pert shampoo. I got $30 worth of items for $4 after all the coupons. The young stud cashier said "Wow, you scored on that one!" Yeah... I may be an old lady but I know how to get a deal! LOL

In addition, the mail came and I got a coupon for a FREE box of Cheerios (up to 4.29 value) and a free sample of the Dove shampoo and conditioner and free samples of the Lemon, Lime, Orange crystals with a coupon for both the Dove shampoo and Lemon crystals. Apparently these crystals you can flavor anything with that needs a little citrus.

I just spend an hour in the early morning and sometimes at night to sign up for all these FREE samples. You just have to get connected with the right web sites and start typing.

Here's some deals for you:

Free sample of Mr. Clean Eraser sponge

Free sample of new Always pad

Why use coupons?

Ok.. so I have heard all the excuses. "I don't have time.", "Coupons don't come for what I need." "I don't like clipping." I have used all these excuses and more for not using coupons. The fact of the matter is....coupons save you LOTS of money. It takes a few months to get a good collection and organize them to where you can find what you need. And yes.. it is a little extra work but once you know where to go and sign up to a couple of websites that give you intstant ways to save money...it is worth it. This blog has a funny story from a husbands perspective when his wife decided to do coupons. If you want a good laugh, please read it:

90% SAVINGS!!

Yes it is true! I went to Wallmart with my other Kraft coupons for free hot dogs and cheese, $2 coupons for produce, bread, and milk and my Tava drink coupons. Therefore, $40 worth of products was only $11. If you buy 3 Kool-aides then you can get the free Kraft items. The only bad thing that happened was the cashier had to go through each coupon and customers kept leaving my line. I am glad that I did not go when it was busy.

Here are some of my findings for today:

Kraft Deal at HEB!

Thank you to one of my bloggers, I was able to snag a great deal at HEB. They have buy Kraft pudding and Kraft dressing and you get other items free. In the ALL YOU magazine they have these coupons for Kraft dressing free and Wheat thins free when you buy kraft products. (You can check out her blog at http://jane4girls800dollarannualbudget.blogspot.com/) I used the coupons for milk and produce again because I had to buy some peaches for a peach cobbler and the peaches were on sale! My total before coupons: 72.42 and my coupons were $46.75 so I only paid $25.85!! The manager had to come over and do an overide for the transaction. You can do this too. The ALL YOU magazine is a Walmart for $1.77 and it is worth every penny to get three copies to save $46. My kids love the kool-aide but they won't get that all the time, it was just because they were free. ;)

I also went to Randalls on my way home from the YMCA. They had a great deal on Kelloggs cereal...$1.50 per box and I have a coupons for $1 off two. Anytime cereal is $1 a box, it is a great deal. I also got some trial samples of Advil so I could use the $1 coupons that I had which were going to expire.(Did I say they were FREE?) I saved $20 there. They have a buy one get one free eggs so I got that deal too. My kids love egg salad sandwiches.

Are you thirsty?

I went to HEB and used some of those $2 off coupons for produce, milk, and bread if you bought Kelloggs items. I have a lot of Kelloggs coupons. I saved $15 there. And then I took a deep breath and went to Walmart. I went over the rules with the kids before we went in and they did good. I saved $30. I got a lot of trial size items that I could find. Gold Bond lotion, Playtex wipes, and the Johnson Buddies soaps. Then the best deal ever was the Powerade was on sale for .60 cents and I had grabbed coupons at Wallgreens for Powerade and it was $1 off three. I bought 9 because it came out to .26 cents for each one!! They each have a coke rewards code in the cap. Yipee!! My husband drinks these kind of drinks a lot so he was happy too. I don't know if there are any more coupons at Wallgreens but it is worth checking out.

Here is a link to Pillsbury for over $20 in coupons! Just sign up and print!

Cheap Soda and Kleenex

At Wallgreens they are having a sale on Kleenex for .89 cents and there are coupons from the paper for 50 cents off Kleenex and so I am getting as much Kleenex as possible for 39 cents each. Winter will be comming! Also, I have coupons for Sprite Buy one get one free and they are only $1 each at Wallgreens and so I am stocking up on Soda. There are also some peelies on the soda that I found which made a 2liter bottle of soda for 25 cents. Look for the peelies!!!

More goodies to come soon....

New Clothes at Goodwill!!

We went school shopping for clothes at Goodwill. (There are so many Goodwills in Texas) It is like a treasure hunt. We got all the above clothes for $20. That included new Spiderman shoes for Jason because he wore out his flip flops! I noticed the clothes for boys are very worn out and it is hard to find new ones. However, Jessica got brand new pants and shirts...never been worn! Usually, one pair of pants would cost $20. I found a Sade CD for $1 and it works great.

I got some more freebies in the mail. Classico sent me a coupon for .50 off and a free Classico sauce because I could not print their coupon and I sent them an email about it. I got a free sample of aftershave balm from Nivea for Rick. I also got a coupon for a free V8 fusion 48oz. Did I say how much I love getting free stuff in the mail? I LOVE IT!!! :)

Here are some items I found today!

God? God? Oh.. You are Listening!

Shopping at Randalls went great! I saved $95!!! I used my coupons with everthing that I wanted and that was on sale and it was the best shopping trip I had. My kids helped me find items with the coupons. (I told them they were each a secret agent on a mission) I had about $50 in coupons and $45 in savings at the store. There was a lady behind me in line with a few items and she said "Wow! Did you get those coupons on the internet?" and I explained how I did my couponing and she said "I am going to have to try that! You go girl!" (I honestly thought she would start throwing daggers at me with her eyes because she had to wait) I think the young stud cashier's eyes almost fell out after he looked at the bottom of the receipt. His mouth gaped open as he handed it to me. After he found his voice, he said I had earned a .20 cent discount on my gas the next time I fill up! Yahoo!!! That was an unexpected blessing. The gas price at their pump is the same at HEB so I was a HAPPY GIRL! I have decided that I will do a big shopping trip every two weeks and just get a few neccessities in between. Wallgreens seems to have better deals this week with all the coupons that I got in the Sunday paper. If you haven't picked up a Sunday paper, I hope you can find one. There were three booklets of coupons!! There was also a $10 rebate from Kelloggs and it is an easy one qualify for!

Here are some good items I found for today:

This is a coupon for Payless Shoes 15% off in store or 40% online

I have always had success with neutrogena for dry scalp and this is a $2 coupon

The coupons have changes for the month of August so you can look through the printable coupons websites and see what is available. My favorite is the TAVA drink and if you get it at Walmart it is only .45 for four drinks!

I will update my savings for the month of July soon! Happy Shopping!

Saturday, August 2, 2008

Thank Goodness! A new month has begun! It is supposed to be HOT this week in Texas and so I am searching for any icecream coupons or icey drink coupons to keep me cool. I have discovered this budget is not easy but I am determined to make it work. I am off to Randalls today to see what I can save. I have organized the coupons in my bright green binder that I got at Walmart. I have a little bit more coupon matching before I go. This time, I am going to pray before I go. Pray for my eyes to see good deals and make wise decisions, pray for my children that they will behave and pray for my SANITY! LOL.

Here are some findings for coupons and freebies:

ONE DAY ONLY!!

The Teacher's seminar has been taking up a lot of my time but I had to share some findings. Today only, there is a coupon you can print for $5 off any $20 purchase.

I went to Randalls for the first time and saved $60 plus I had a $10 coupon to use for my next shopping trip. They do have some good deals and some items are priced a little higher. Randalls and HEB have ads that come out at the same time on Wednesday so I am going to compare them this week. The best day was yesterday. I got several freebies in the mail: Uncle Ben's instant rice with a $1 coupon, $2 coupon for Ivory Snow, sample of Pledge wipes with $3 in coupons, free coloring book for Jason and a sample of Celine Dion perfume (Yuck! I am just not a perfume wearing girl) Not only did I get all these freebies but I went to Randalls to get some beef and use my $10 coupon and I found 5 POUNDS OF GROUND BEEF FOR $4.50! No, not $4.50 a LB!! I had to rub my eyes and I am sure that my mouth was hanging open! It was sirloin too! It looked like it was freshly ground. I snagged it and skipped down the rest of the store! I got Oreos for 99 cents, Poptarts for 99 cents (we don't usually buy poptarts but my daughter loves them and I told her if they were on sale for less than a $1, I would buy her some) I got grahm crackers for 99 cents. I doubled up the Nabisco coupons I had from earlier shopping. I got two boxes of Pop secret for $2 and some cheese for the lazana I will make later. All for $10!

I AM OFFICIALLY A BAG LADY! :)

I had my first seminar for becomming a teacher and it is a good thing I brought my lunch because there were 2,000 women and men there and half of them tried to jam into the few restraunts nearby and the buffet offered. Long lines!! I got my bag in the mail from the lady who is promoting recycling. She is not giving out any more free bags at this point but maybe at a future date. I will let you know.http://www.greenbaglady.blogspot.com/ You can check out her blog and see what an amazing difference she is making. VERY COOL!!

ICED COFFEE FOR $1?

I dug through the recycle bin Saturday (yes, that was my rear in the air) and I found two sets of coupons for $1 16oz coffee at "It's a Grind" No, not $1 off, ONLY ONE DOLLAR! We loved it! They expire at the end of the month but we have not gone to "Starbucks" in a long time to save money. Also, I would say that I saved more at CVS this week than at the grocery store. There were not as many coupons for the grocery store and we just needed the neccessities this week. (Milk, eggs, bread) I am determined to find out where I can double up coupons. This week I am going to a couple of "Family Dollar stores" and Walmart to see what I can find. There are good school supply sales at Wallgreens this week. Here are some coupons that I found this morning:

Free box of Huggies Wipes!http://marthababysteps.com/reqform.php

.75 cent Wet Ones couponhttp://wetones.com/ (click on botton right corner)

$2 off Preparation H http://www.preparationh.com/ (ok, admit it, we have all needed this at one point or another!) :)
Just a note: After you print the coupon, press the back up button twice and the coupon will usually print again. I usually do two in case I can double up on it later.

FREE LOAD OF LAUNDRY!

I heard that on August 3rd the paper will have a ton of coupons for laundry detergent so get ready to buy a Sunday paper. We are going to the library to get some free books to read today and maybe some movies for the kiddos. Money is tight at the end of the month! OUCH!

FINALLY!

I was starting to wonder if my entrance into all these "freebies"was going to pay off and it finally has! I got two shampoo samples, pads and tampons, splenda, face lotion for my husband, about $40 in coupons and a free Rinaldi spagetti sauce coupon. Hmmm now where are those cereal reabates? 4-6 weeks seems like a long time! :)

I found a website that has all three printable coupon companies on it and a way to check your grocery store and match up the coupons. I wish I would have started collecting coupons sooner.

http://www.mysavings.com/ I had to fill out a survey. Maybe there was a way around that but I don't know. They post up freebies and you can look up all kinds of goodies. Check it out! :)

It has been so hot here lately so here is a B1G1 free coupon from Jamba Juice!http://www.jambajuice.com/#/home/

Free samples from good products:
http://www.emergenc.com/ Just go to the bubble that says "Share the good" and they will send you free samples plus coupons. I have used this product before and it is good for extra vitamins during the cold season.

I didn't do as well at HEB this week. There weren't too many sales I was interested in. I did save about $25 there and durning the week I went to CVS and Walmart and saved more money. HEB did have Kotex pads and tampons on sale and I had a coupon from the P&G insert and I got pads for .25. There were peel and stick coupons on the ground chuck and the Nabisco products which were located at the end of the back of an aile. Sneaky!

DON"T FORGET THE LAMP!

This is a record savings for me! I saved $70 on my HEB shopping trip this week. One of the best savings was for OFF Lamp that keeps the bugs away. I had a coupon that I printed a while ago for buy one get one free. The Lamp retailed at 9.99 so I did not think I would get it but when I went into HEB they had a coupon for $5 off an OFF and there was a small one on the lamp itself for $3.00 off.(I used two of those) So I bought two and had a $2 overage to put towards my other products. You never know when you might need a coupon!! I also had peel stickers on my ground beef for $1 off if I bought Betty Crocker brownies which I had two coupons for. I saved $4 on that deal. I had a coupon for a new salad dressing and on the salad dressing bottle was a coupon for .55 cents off my produce. I got the salad dressing for $1.69 and saved money on my veggies!!! The biggest tip I can give other moms is look for the hidden peel and stick coupons. They are small and sometimes you can miss them. For example, I almost went right past a book by Natures Sweet Tomatoes that had recepies in it and $3.00 in coupons for tomatoes. This book was in the front of the cucumbers! I also have a rebate form for free tomatoes from this company too. So I will send in the rebate form and get paid $1 for buying tomatoes! I like the small red tomatoes but they are usually so expensive that I don't buy them but not this time! I would say that 90% of my items had a coupon. HEB has some their own deals and I just look ahead of time to see if I have any coupons for the products they give away if you buy other products. Don't forget to get your lamp and look for the small coupons with the big savings!

I went shopping yesterday and made some great deals. CVS is definately worth looking into. The key is to make sure you buy with coupons and make sure you get those bucks they add onto your card. Gold bond lotion is great and I had 5 separate coupons so I got all the items for half price. I saved a total of $70 between the grocery store and CVS. I found a new coupon site which will print the coupons twice and sometime you can double them with others from the paper.http://print.coupons.com/gmsa/Login.asp?pid=12074&ZID=wg09&NID=4 I also like this blog. http://www.frugalfinds.blogspot.com/ she always gives ideas of free samples or good coupon finds. I found one blog that showed her coupon savings at 3,000$ for the year! WOW. I saved about $200 last month. I better get busy!

This blog is officially dedicated to my family whom I am diligently trying to save money for! More than ever we need all moms to come together and help eachother save money. The gas and grocery bills are way out of control. I am going to record my weekly finds here and my weekly savings. Anyone can save money with the invention of the internet. You can even save money if you are working full time and taking care of children. I am a stay-at-home mom now and I used to be a busy Day Spa owner. I loved my business but I am saving more money now and enjoying my children more since I sold it. I will enter the workforce soon but since I have stayed at home the last year, I have learned so much about myself and my spending habits and about saving money. Hopefully my finds will help you and encourage you to do the same.
